The problem is Kensington has never (in any case officially) developed drivers for Windows 2000/XP for this webcam, and will never do it. Indeed on their website we can find drivers for Windows9x and the VideoCamWorks software, but nothing about Windows2000/XP. Finally, in the FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions), we can find this :

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

>> Supported Operating Systems :

>> Kensington VideoCAMs are only supported under Windows 98 and Me. They are not supported under Windows 95, NT, 2000, or XP.

>> Due to a changing market, Kensington has made a very difficult business decision. As of 2001, Kensington exited the Imaging business in order to focus on other products.

>> As a result of this, Kensington no longer develops drivers for the #67014 Kensington VideoCAM, #67015 Kensington VideoCAM VGA, or the #67016 Kensington VideoCAM Super VGA. Thus, VideoCAM drivers for Windows XP or 2000 operating systems have never been developed, nor will be supported by Kensington.

So, we must find a solution without them to use this webcam under Windows 2000/XP. This solution (the only which exists) is explained in this page. However, the obtained result will not be always equivalent to what you obtained with Windows9x (in particular the image quality in the darkness which will sometimes become bad, and the button on the top will become useless). Thus, the steps to be followed :

1- Firstly, you shall download bios (firmware) and pilots (drivers) for Windows2000/XP (all in one file, click here for download). Then you will have three folders :

firmware_1.20
The last official firmware for the Webcam in Win98.
firmware_2000_XP
The firmware of the webcam for 2000/XP.
drivers_mixed_2000_XP3
Drivers to use for Windows 2000/XP.

2- Then, unzip the downloaded file (for example with the WinZIP software). You should then have the following files :

firmware_2000_XP :

drivers_mixed_2000_XP_3 :

3- Use EEP_98.exe in order to flash the bios of your Kensington Webcam, for make it usable under Windows 2000/XP. But make attention, paradoxically this operation CANOOT be made under Win2000 or XP, but only under Windows98. Thus, it may be necessary for you to find a computer having Windows98, and correctly install the webcam there (with original drivers) to correctly update the webcam. Once that the update is correctly completed (well follow the indications given by the software), pass at the following step.

4- Return under WinXP, and connect the webcam : Windows shloud detect a new peripheral, and require pilots to you... Choose the second option (see image), and click on Next :

Indicate him with the Browse button where you have unzip the file, then the folder drivers_mixed_2000_XP_3 :

Windows requires confirmation, click to continue :

Windows indicates to you the end of the installation procedure of " Kensington VideoCAM Composite Device" : click to finish :

A second new peripheral is detected, follow the same indications than before :

It's finish : now at each connection of the webcam, installation should be automatic.

5- Sometimes, it is necessary to restart the computer to take modifications in count. You must find a software to use the cam, but it is easy on the Internet... You can download here VideoCamWorks2 BETA which is running under WindowsXP (only after installation of webcam XP drivers of course).

P.S : Once the webcam is "updated" for Win2000/XP, it seems that it cannot be flashed back to run on Windows9x...
